The Grid

The board is a 3×3 grid where rows and columns are sports teams. The bottom row may be a stat category (e.g., "30+ HRs"). Name a player who played for both the row team and column team to claim the cell.

Rarity

Each answer gets a rarity score. Lower = rarer = better (0.01% is the best, 100% is the worst). Obscure players who only briefly overlapped earn lower rarity.

Steals & Upgrades

Click on an opponent's cell to steal it — you must name a player with a lower rarity than theirs. Click your own cell to upgrade it to a rarer player.

Winning

Get three-in-a-row and hold it for 3 consecutive turns. Your opponent gets chances to break the line by stealing one of your cells.

Sudden Death

If both players have three-in-a-row simultaneously, a 5-turn sudden death begins. The player with the lowest average rarity across their winning cells wins.

Alternate Win

After 5 consecutive misses by both players, the game ends. Most squares wins. Tiebreak by total rarity (lower wins). Perfect tie = draw.
